As IP and cloud communications services continue to gain momentum, a solution that is generating even more attention among businesses is the hybrid PBX communications platform. These smart-hybrid systems give businesses the best of both worlds by delivering an advanced, fully-digital IP solution while also being able to connect with older analog systems. Hybrid platforms deliver advanced telephony services, improving communication and collaboration capabilities while helping businesses save time and money on both installation and overall operations costs.
For example, the longstanding Florida law firm Dye, Deitrich, Petruff & St. Paul has put a new hybrid communications platform to the test. After using Panasonic’s TX-TD1232 phone system for nearly 20 years, the firm decided it was time for an upgrade and brought in telephony expert Robert MacDonald of Custom Communications to spearhead the design and integration of its new platform, the Panasonic KX-NS700.
During the installation process, Bob and his team were challenged by integrating the new system with the existing voice mail system and cost accounting software, which was a crucial part of the firm’s day-to-day billing and finance operations. However, with the Smart Hybrid IP Communications Platform’s flexibility, they were able to integrate the new hardware with the existing Panasonic KX-TVA50 voicemail system and the firm’s accounting software to ensure all calls and fax communications were associated with the correct client.
The KX-NS700 also proved to be the versatile solution the firm was looking for due to its ability to combine legacy and IP lines for lower operating costs and ability to expand support of up to 288 extensions as necessary. Additionally, the law firm upgraded to Panasonic’s new KX-UTG300B SIP phones, offering advanced features including HD voice, a 5-inch color graphical touchscreen display and built-in Bluetooth capabilities.
Since the upgrade, the firm’s staff has seen an increase in productivity, allowing them to respond to incoming calls and requests in a more efficient manner.
“The products have been performing extremely well and the whole process has been a seamless experience,” said Jackie Vingelli, office administrator of the firm.
