User Report: WFSB Expands Tapeless ENG With Panasonic
WFSB is a Meredith Broadcast Group property and the CBS affiliate in the Hartford-New Haven market. We recently added six AG-HPX370 P2 HD shoulder-mount camcorders to our roster of Panasonic solid-state camcorders for ENG. As part of our ongoing transition to a tapeless newsgathering operation, we initially began shooting news with Panasonic AG-HPX500 P2 HD camcorders, and in 2009 added eight AG-HPX300 P2 HD models (the predecessor to the HPX370). With our most recent investment, we’re able to equip each of our 16 news photographers with his own camcorder, laptop and hard drive.

Panasonic’s leading innovative technologies are being used extensively in the production at Roland Garros, including the company’s latest 3D camcorder, the upcoming AG-3DP1, which is being used for the first time for live broadcasting. Additional 3D solutions include the AG-3DA1 camcorder, a side-by-side rig with two AK-HC1800 box cameras, six AV-HS450N Multi-format live switchers, the P2 Mobile- Portable Recorder/Player, and BT-3DL2550 and BT-LH910 3D production monitors.
